Cross Device Segments - You can reach users on all their devices

What is a Cross Device Segment?

A very common use case to understand what a cross device segment is, is to analize ourselves and see how many devices do we have (web & mobile) or how many browsers we open.

All those devices belong to a same person. However, not all of them are alway caught by the Retargetly Pixel we add to our Web Site, depending which device people use when they enter to our Web Site.

Thanks to our data partners, where Tapad is one of them, Retargetly has the ability to identify all the other devices from that user, no only the one they've used to came to our Web Site.

Which are the most common use cases?

Cross-Device segments are often used to impact the same person several times but in different contexts. One of the most common use cases are sequencing actions (messages differentiated to the same person, depending on the device).

How do I create a Cross Device segment?

The first step is to to go to de "Segment" section, where you have previously created one of the following segments:

  • Web Segment
  • App Segment
  • CRM segment
  • Campaign Segment

After having created one of the segments mentioned above, you must click on the "+" button in the "Actions" column and choose the "Cross Device" option

You have already created your Cross-Device segment. Now you are ready to be really omnichannel and impact your users at the right moment and in the right device.

Good Luck!
