What is the Campaign Conversion tag?

The conversion tag is a tracker offered by Retargetly DMP, which allows you to measure when a person who saw an ad (which you are tracking) manages to do a desired action, such as: "click on a section of your website "

What does it take to rattle a conversion?

To be able to trache a conversion it is necessary to have first created a "Campaign Data Source" in Retargetly DMP and for this we explain below how the process is briefly.

Each "Campaign Data Source" has associated 3 types of tags, of which 2 of them must be implemented at the Campaign level (Impressions Tag and Click Tag) while the Conversion Tag will be implemented directly in the section of our website that for us means a conversion.

How is the conversion tag implemented?

At this point one basically has 2 alternatives: The first is to paste that code in the section of the web that we want. This option has the limitation of requiring a technical person such as a web master who has the technical skills to correctly implement it within the source code.

The second option, and the most used, is that having Google Tag Manager one can, without technical knowledge, implement said tracker easily.

Steps:

a- Open Google Tag Manager and "create" a new tag

b- Edit the tag configuration, where "Custom HTML" will be selected and right there you will paste the conversion track provided by Retargetly.

c- The next step is to choose the reason for activating the conversion track.

For that one has to choose the type of activator ...

Click on the "links only" option ...

Check the option "Some clicks on links" ...

And insert the destination URL ...

Google Tag Manager offers other options for measuring conversions which are 100% valid as well. We simply limit ourselves to describing the option that we most recommend, but if you need to know about others, we recommend you click and read the following link.

Ready!!! Now every time a person sees your ad and clicks to finish in the desired section of your site, your conversion tracker will start showing activity on those people who have successfully completed this funnel.
